"He places a big emphasis on finding his own sound and voice in music. His music displays a wide range of musical expressions."
-Kristjan Randalu, ECM pianist and composer
"...As you listen further, you experience striking contrasts—from the most energetic to the calmest, most meditative moments—all woven together with beautiful melodies and chord progressions."
Maggi Olin, pianist and composer
Eskil strives to create an atmosphere of emotional resonance and reflection, where the music encourages listeners to pause and just listen in the midst of our hectic modern society. His music has a unique sound world and lives a life of its own. It is not created to meet anyone’s expectations or fit into a particular genre or tradition. It refuses to be bent to anyone’s will—it is created because it must come out. It pushes boundaries, moves forward, and challenges the definitions of Nordic Jazz, classical music, and folk music.
Eskil Roos, born 2001 in Lund is a Swedish pianist and composer. He lives in Malmö where he attained a bachelors degree in jazz and improvisation at Malmö Academy of Music under the mentorship of Jan Lundgren, Maggi Olin, Inga-Britt Niemand and Loïc Dequidt. In his third year he went to study with the renowned pianist and composer Kristjan Randalu in Tallinn at the Estonian Academy of Music and Arts as part of an Erasmus exchange.
He further immerses himself in the world of music and composition in a Master of Music at the Malmö Academy of Music.
He has played in venues such as Malmö Jazzmanifest, Malmö Folkfestival and TV on Karl Fredrik på Eklaholm.
Growing up singing in choirs and playing the violin, the piano came into his life relatively late at the age of 16. His father finding the music of E.S.T. (Esbjörn Svensson Trio) along with Swedish pianist Lars Jansson were the first steps into the world of jazz. Starting out by figuring out the music of Lars Jansson and the music of Studio Ghibli film composer Joe Hisaishi by ear, the spark and passion for music was born.
He is currently working on his debut album with original music, planned to be released in early 2026.

About
"He is a pianist who tells stories through his playing and his fantastic compositions. There is a playfulness here, but also a depth. A sense of stillness, yet also drive. Rarely have I witnessed such natural clarity in someone's musicianship—he is a musician in the truest sense of the word."
-Martin Berggren, pianist and composer
